It started in 2023, in the mountains of Virginia. Co-founder Luke Sigle was preparing to race the Grindstone 100 — a grueling 106-mile ultra-marathon. Amidst the physical and mental preparation, there was one continuous frustration: preparing the gear.

Looking around the starting line and aid stations, the problem was obvious. Runners were relying on a chaotic mix of trash bags, plastic storage bins, flimsy cinch sacks, coolers, and everyday backpacks to manage their race-day essentials. Nothing was purpose-built for the unique, high-stress demands of endurance sports. When you're 60 miles into a race, digging through a black plastic bag in the dark for a headlamp battery is the last thing you want to be doing.

Determined to build a better alternative, lifelong runners Luke and Leah Sigle set to work. They didn't just want another duffel bag; they wanted a meticulously organized, rugged system that gave athletes complete control over their equipment.

The result was the Crew Drop One — a compact, versatile, and highly organized drop bag designed to eliminate chaos and keep your focus exactly where it belongs: on the effort ahead.

SILO Performance Project was officially founded in 2024. What started as a solution for ultra-runners quickly proved its value far beyond the trail. Today, SILO gear is used by athletes across all disciplines to stay organized, protected, and ready to perform.
